Apologies for extra distfiles traffic and --max-delete question

Robin H. Johnson-2
Hi mirror-admins,

We'd like to apologize for the burst of extra traffic in /distfiles.

The master distfiles box unexpected rebooted, and did not mount the
distfiles LV on reboot; worse, rsync continued to serve with the
directory being empty, and that caused many mirrors to delete their
/distfiles content.

Admins: Are your mirrors running the --max-delete option in their sync
cronjobs for the distfiles & releases? If you're not, would you consider
it?

No.

No. Gentoo is a small distribution, there's no need for max-delete given that
such incidents are very rare.

Hi,
i run:

rsync --stats  --recursive --links --perms --times -D --delete --timeout=300

But unfortunately no one from gentoo mirror admin team cared enough to
solve the new (old) mirror ticket:

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472364

Anyone knows who do i have to ping to get this solved and
http://gentoo.mirror.linux.ro/ added to the official mirrors?

Thanks!

Did you really expect anybody to answer "yes"?
I run something like: rsync -qrptl --bwlimit <limit> --delete --exclude="robots.txt" --password-file=<file>

I might, if you tell me what number is good to use.
