X start probleme

Hallo,

ich habe mein System jetzt soweit wieder aufgebaut. Leider läuft der Start von
KDE nicht wie gewünscht.
Wenn in der /etc/conf.d/xdm sddm aktiv ist dann erhalte ich einen graphischen
Loginmanager welcher aber keine Passwörter akzeptiert. Ist auch nicht im
breeze Layout von kde.
Mit Str Alt F1 kann ich mich dann an der Konsole anmelden. Ein Startx geht
dann natürlich nicht mehr da ja bereits erfolgt.

Wenn ich den SDDM ausschalte in der /etc/conf.d/xdm per # dann kann ich mit
startx eine xterm starten in dem ich dann mit startkde kde starten kann.
Direkt ein startkde gibt die Meldung Display is not set.

Ich würde gerne direkt kde starten und mich selbst vorausgewält und
passworteingabe aktiv. Wie komme ich da hin. Mit den X und Kde Anleitungen im
Wiki bin ich da wo ich jetzt bin und sicher ist es durch meine Versuche nicht
besser geworden.

Die weitere Probleme das der networkmanager von kde nicht startet dafür aber
ein wpa-gui und Mausaussetzer etc kann ich danach noch bearbeiten.

was meinst du mit "Loginmanager welcher aber keine Passwörter akzeptiert"?
Wäre hilfreich wenn du dies etwas genauer ausführen könntest, ebenso welche
Versionen du verwendest und ob was auffälliges in den Log-files steht.

Bei mir läuft xdm mit sddm und Theme maui (in /etc/sddm.conf) ohne Probleme:
[Theme]
# Current theme name
Current=maui

Ach ja, musste den user sddm zu der Gruppe video hinzufügen
damit es problemlos ging:
getent group video
video:x:27:harry,sddm

wie soll ich das beschreiben. Es gibt auf Blauem Hintergrund eine Avatarbild
eines Users Sebastian welcher auch vorhanden seien müsste. Darunter ist ein
Feld in welcem ich ein passwort eingeben kann. Obwohl das Passwort richtig ist
soweit ich das bei den Punkten erkennen kann wird dieses nicht akzeptiert. Auf
der Konsole aber schon. Auch wenn das Tastaturlayout Amerikanisch ist dürfte
das für das Passwort so wie es gesetzt ist kein Problem dartsellen.

Dieses Layout sieht zwar so aus als könne man es anpassen aber es gibt keine
anderen zur auswahl. Zudem gibt es noch die Auswahlmöglichkeit ob man sich an
Wayland anmelden möchten oder konsole oder kde-plasma wenn ich das richtig im
Kopf habe. Mehr verrät dieser Loginmanager nicht über sich.
soweit erstmal. Ich werde das ganze nochmal mit #sddm probieren.

aus den logs weiter Unten kann ich nichts entnehmen.

Hallo,

anbei die Logs von Xorg und sddm mit aktivem sddm in der /etc/conf.d/xdm.
Im sddm log sieht man auch den Fehlgeschlagenen Loginversuch leider gibt mir
das aber keine weiterführenden Infos.

Hallo,

hat den keiner eine Idee wie ich mit dem Problem weiterkomme?
Mittlerweile habe ich den sddm auf breeze umstellen können und einen 2 User
testweise angelegt.
Leider bekomme ich wenn ich den sddm beim start automatisch starte diesen zwar
zusehen aber die loginversuche werden abgelehnt. Wo bekomme ich zusehen warum
diese abgelehnt werden?

Wenn ich ohne x starte kann ich mich anmelden und dann mit startx eine xterm
starten aus dem ich dann mit startkde kdeplasma starten kann. Hier läuft dann
auch alles zufriedenstellend lediglich der Desktophintergrund ist schwarz bzw
wird von 3 xterm Fenstern bedeckt.

Vielleicht doch, wegen dieser deiner Fehlermeldung:

würde ich mal nativ auf der Maschine (nicht per cross oder chroot
compile) folgendes paket neu bauen:

sys-libs/pam


Ich hab ähnliche Probleme regelmäßig wenn ich System im 32-Bit chroot
für andere PCs update.

Vielleicht hilft das ja schon nach einem anschließenden Neustart, so
wie bei mir. ;-)

Ansonsten würde ich als nächstes in Richtung .Xauthority Rechte des
Xorg Systems recherchieren, war irgendwo in den tiefen der xorg wikis
erwähnt.

ich habe nochmal ein wenig gesucht und kann mich jetzt immerhin per startx an
kde Anmelden ohne Umweg über xterm.

Nachvollziebar habe ich die /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc bearbeitet. Leider habe ich
dazu im Handbuch aber keine mich weiterführenden hinweise gefunden. Ich stelle
die mal hier rein wie sie im Moment aussieht. Sollte ich da noch etwas
verbessern?

Leider ist der Anmeldebildschirm von sddm noch immer unbrauchbar eine
Anmeldung schlägt immer fehl. Ich habe festgestellt das das Tastatur-Layout zu
diesem Zeitpunkt warscheinlich noch Englisch ist? = = ) üöä sind nicht
vorhanden.
Dies dürfte dem Passwort aber egal sein da im Moment auf einfach getrimmt.
Den sddm schalte in der /etc/conf.d/xdm an oder aus.

Mit den Spracheinstellung hatte ich auch meine Probleme und vieleicht ist das
noch nicht korrekt. Für Deutsch war kein erkennbares UTF8 Layout vorhanden so
habe ich eines erstellt mit locale-gen (ohne recht zu verstehen was dabei
genau passiert) und mit eselect gesetzt.

/etc/env.d/02locale sieht so aus:

Das sieht auch gut aus.

Und was steht in /etc/conf.d/keymaps?

Bei mir steht:

 ~ $ grep "^[^#]" /etc/conf.d/keymaps
keymap="de-latin1"
windowkeys="YES"

Da braucht man allerdings noch einen UTF-8 Font für die Konsole:

(Hinweis: lat9w-10 ist recht klein.)

ich versuche mal eine Antwort auf deine Frage "wofür stehen die twm, xclock
und xterm angaben?"
Kurz nach der Zeile "> # start some nice programs" kommt ja die Abfrage auf
ein Script "chooser.sh". Ich denke hier geht es um die Bestimmung einer
Xsession und insbesondere den Window-manager.
Wenn das Script fehlt schlägt, dann braucht man einen Standard, der immer geht
bzw. von dem man annehmen kann, dass er immer geht.
Das ist der Teil, der in deiner xinitrc weiter unten dann auskommentiert ist.
Die Zilen ab "> if [ -n "$failsafe" ]; then" würden den einfachen Window-
Manager twm (siehe Wikipedia https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twm ) starten und
zusätzlich noch eine Uhr und zwei xterm. Die-geometry Angabe sind, soweit ich
mich erinnere, Angaben für die Position+Größe auf dem Bildschirm.
Woher die Zeile mit "exec startkde" im "then"-Zweig kommt, kann ich nicht
erklären. Ist das vielleicht ein Versuch von dir gewesen?

Zur Lösung deines eigentlichen Problems kann ich leider keinen konkreten Tipp
geben. Ich kann nur sagen, dass bei mir SDDM geht und ich mich damit anmelden
kann und dann ein Window-Manager startet. Das ist normalerweise KDE (Plasma),
aber ich hatte kürzlich auch mal spasseshalber Mate gebaut und konnte das dann
im SDDM auch als Sitzung auswählen und mich anmelden. Einstellungen nach dem
Bauen waren dafür keine nötig.
Meine sddm.conf habe ich als Anhang an die Mail gehängt. Aber an der habe ich
nichts gemacht, sie ist so wie emerge sie eingebaut hat.
